Girl fishing

Here is another Sargent study. I enjoy the limited palette
and how it can help to concentrate on values.
I'm not sure if people fish this way any more!
(Or in a nice dress too for that matter!)
oil on gesso'd board 10.5"x14" 1.5 hrs.

Bill what a wonderful painting! You have captured John Singer Sargent's style and palette very well BUT it's all you, the artist, that did it :)

This is a very nice and well done study Bill
I should do some studies my self to in the fellows I like. Sure, is a way to learn about color harmonies and mostly consolidate a chosen path.
You now? well thought that way of fishing looks to me, a very human way, a) you don hurt the fellow fishes and b) we will not depleting our resources ahead o our time. I will rite To Mr. Harper on that matter!!!

Thank you Tina! Keeping loose is a big part of it! I hope to do more!

Jan! Thanks! So kind of you to say that! : )

Thanks Gilberto! Sometimes I like to 'sing there songs' it helps me to learn!
I used to catch minnows that way, but never pan fish! You're right though, very human way to fish!

Thank you Cindy! I'm glad you like it!

Great Job Bill, the limited palette is perfectly executed. Copying the masters is always a good thing, great job!
