Maybe after " Break Spring" :) All kidding aside Bill, the finished frame is magnificent!!! I am looking forward to seeing the frame that you made for Richard's lovely landscape~~~

Bill, this is absolutely fascinating. I am so pleased to see time honored crafts being kept alive.

Thank you so much for your very nice comments on my work. Monday and Tuesday I was told I had made two different folks' day because of comments I had made on their sites. Today...it comes around and you have made my day in a VERY BIG way. I am so very pleased that you see the Jazz!!!

Come on back any time! And check the link to my messy studio blog that shows how close I come to disaster on almost every piece!! Coffee's always on.

Thanks Jan! This frame was a swan profile, one of the more diffecult profiles to lay leaf to.
Because of the curve the gold wants to break. I
would discuss that at another time.
Thanks for being here Jan!

Kaylyn! Thanks for your comments! I knew this was a lost art when I learned it. I have been
keeping the fire burning ever since!
I hope to continue gilding : )!!

Well no wonder a great frame costs an arm and a leg--! So much work! Very worth it, however. that frame would improve any painting! High five--it is a beauty!

Thanks Celeste! Acually this one was only a couple of toes!( the littlest ones!)
Some frames have cost as much as the art itself! It all depends on what a client wants.
Gilded frames can be 'jewlery' or a simple band of gold.
I don't think of it as improving the painting, but rather introducing & presenting the painting with respect & dignity!
Thank you for sitting in on these posts, I wonder if I did this right, or if it just made things more confusing?
Most of what I read out there is confusing or
spendy to learn.
I wanted to get this out to my blogger buds
in hopes that it may help in some way.

Thanks Jan! I hope you can benefit from this.
I used to joke that I could tell ya, but then I'd have to kill ya!
The true meaning of lent,(to me) was to give up something close. To sacrefice something for a deeper siritual learning.
Sure, I could have given up a drink, or a food. Or even a painting session.
Instead I chose to give up a secret that I've held dear, to help my blogger buddies.
I see how confusing and expensive it seems, and I wanted to disspell that!
It takes some practice, but then doesn't any art form!?
Anyway, I appeciate you and everyone that I'm getting to know on these blogs.
So here ya go..Thanks friend! : )
