Latenight walk

Went for a walk the other night and saw this. I painted this from memory the next day to recall the mood.
The neon light reflecting on the water tower looked cool. It's a quick thumbnail sketch, I wasn't going for
perfection as much as recalling the scene.
8"x10" oils on gesso'd board.

I think it's an awesome painting! I can just see that the Pillsbury dough boy is hiding somewhere just out of sight. Just saw you stopped by for a visit and wanted to say hi back. Wondering if you are making pickles this summer? I've been away some and just got back.

Hi Wet! Thanks! I Didn't garden this year, but if I get to the farmers market, I could!
(The giant dough boy like in Goustbusters is behind the building:)

Hi Bill- the comments feed seems to be working, you are back in business!
I've walked that area in the night, years ago before they gentrified it; some nights were indeed that forboding looking!

Thanks for your help Judy,I would not have been able to fix this otherwise!
The reflected light from the neon onto the water tower seemed interesting.
As I turned to look on the other side of the (stone arch) bridge I saw the blue glow(light) on the new 35W bridge.
(That was truely forboding)

If there's a way to wide angle show the two in one painting I think it could hang on a wall somewhere locally.
I'll give that a try!

somehow I missed this post when you put it up....wow! it is fantastic! I am especially impressed by the typography in paint. I think I should try this "memory painting" business..but I doubt that I would get such good results as this! I love everything about this.
