Butterfly

Coming home today, there was this butterfly by the door!
Getting out my camera,it closed its wings, then opend up
and flew way. I've never seen this type before. Wow!
(There are fire flies here too!) I thought you may enjoy this.

Just came in from the yard and we have fireflies too. There were lots of them tonight. The discussion here with my neighbor is boy fireflies blink once, and girls blink back twice, or maybe it was the opposite way. Do you know?
Nice butterfly, looks like a painting. :)

Hi Wet! Boys should only blink once, it's the girls that bat there eyes,(ha)
actually I don't know, they seem to disappear into the night if they stop blinking!
Fireflies have always been a curiosity to me!

what a gorgeous butterfly! I wonder what kind it is? I am so glad to know that there still are fireflies! It seemed that they "died out" or something in Illinois. It's a magical world we live in! Thanks for sharing this Bill!

Hi Celeste! I know, when I first saw it, I did
a double take!(I'm trying to find out!)
I have seen firefies that light up green, some yellow, the ones in the back yard are blue green. A magically cool world indeed.

Thanks Jan! Morning Cloak it is! What a beautiful butterfly! It didn't give me a chance
to get a second photo.
