Promise

I wanted to paint something other than a snow scene.

Thinking about all the people I'm meeting doing
this blog thing, I wanted to paint something to reflect
my hope for good things to come. For everyone.
To me a rainbow represents hope, promise, and a play
of light.
I painted this from a photo I took last Spring.
I promise to give my best this year, to all of you.
A leap of faith that it will happen. To play with light.
approx. 5"x7" oil on gesso'd board

That's a nice painting and a lovely sentiment. Blogging has opened up the world for us. It's so wonderful, it could be illegal, but it's not.
Kiss Mr Meowie for me ;)

Nice painting-great water! You captured that strange light that happens with a rainbow, after a rain; vivid and bright, but very cool and deep.
Yes, let's all make great art gains in 2010!

Bill, I've come back to look at this several times. You have really captured a mood of serenity, the peaceful calm that comes after a storm. I love how the darkness of your foreground allows the luminosity of the sky to exist in quiet luxury. That's the best I can do at describing how this feels to me. Thanks for sharing. Very well done!
