I ran across this painting , and was stunned by it's beauty. It reminds me of my wife Renee.
She took loveing care of our children. She was a Saint in many ways, just like St. Genevieve.
The artist, Charles Spaque Pearce was new to me. I did however do a pastel of one of his
paintings several blogs back. (a little girl with a white cap/hat on) I only saw the image in a book,
and didn't know it was painted by him.
So when I saw this painting of St. Genevieve, I started looking at his work. I am Thankful to have
the means to discover art that is "out there." Old & New.
My 'Big Kiss' painting was not accepted for what it was intended. So I'm free to do what I want
with it.

This is a gorgeous piece, Bill!
oh my...I do see the physical resemblance! It is a beautiful painting and I agree that your beautiful Renee deserves the status of "Saint"!
What will you do with that huge support that you used for the kiss/lips? Will you paint something over it? I will be waiting ....to find out!
Bill, the painting is a favorite of mine and I'm glad it reminds you of your wife.
Life is holding so much more meaning for me today and I want that for you too. The tears still spill over but not quite as often.
Blessings to you,
Nora
Thank You Cyndi!
Thanks Celeste! The mood and resemblence was spiritual/frightening. I wanted to post it.
The "Big Kiss" drank up a lot of paint. At some point I may paint over it, but for now I will move on to other work.
I have to be careful useing the word Saint. I'm not a Catholic, nor do I intend to promote Renee to sainthood. I'm just saying this guy,(Charles Perce) captured an eerie likeness that is stunning. If
I could ever achieve even a smidgen
of that ability..
Thanks Nora! I was in awe to find this painting. It has become a favorite for me also.
Your kind understanding is helpful.
I really like this painting Bill. There seems to be a loving holiness captured here. Sounds like your wife was a real pearl. No wonder you miss her so... Be well.
Thank you Susan! I agree, there is
a loveing holiness to this, and that was Renee.
I will always think of her as such.
We were a match made in heaven.
