Babe

I wanted to paint Renee today.
this is from a photograph I've had since high school.
I worked in Zorn palette. It was tempting to use
blue, but didn't. I'll tweek some things, but this is pretty much it.
8"x 8" oils on gesso'd board. 3 hrs.

J'aime le regard de Renée, pensif avec sa bouche ronde et gourmande. Plein d'innocence dans ce portrait, tout ce que j'aime.

Exquisite! Great use of the Zorn palette.

so pretty! I understand Zorn used black and white to achieve a blue like color. This is a beautiful tribute to your "babe".

Thanks Everyone!
I'm working on understanding color, the Zorn palette is very helpful!
I will paint from photos, as I have them, and
can redisign them to something different.
Stapleton Kearns has been posting some rather interesting stuff on this matter.
I want to be a "picture maker", I'm already a story teller!
